Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) is committed to the safety of our members. LIBOR has established a REALTOR® Safety Alert Network to notify members of local safety concerns and emergencies. Through this system, LIBOR’s CEO, Legal Counsel and/or President determine which parties should be notified and the appropriate communication channels for the alert. The procedure then follows suit with National Association of REALTORS®' safety alert system.
Alerts will be issued in situations when a REALTOR® or a REALTOR®’s immediate family member goes missing, an association name or the names of its programs are being used fraudulently to attempt to collect money or information from REALTORS® or others, or a physical threat to REALTORS® is deemed to warrant national attention. The goal of the REALTOR® Safety Network, aside from keeping practitioners informed of threats in their area, is to educate members about common dangers in the field so that they can prepare and avoid risky situations.

Knowledge. Awareness. Empowerment. These are the core components of REALTOR® Safety and helping our members understand the risks they face can mean the difference between life and death. Our commitment is to empowering our members with precautions and preparations so that we can avoid risky situations, be aware of our surroundings and identify the dangers we face every day.
Now is the time to educate your buyers and sellers. Professionally prepared guides are available for free download.
