Volunteers Needed for REALTOR® Volunteer Week, June 3 – 11

As part of National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) 2023 REALTORS® Are Good Neighbors Volunteer Week, Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) is partnering with Island Harvest and City Harvest to fight hunger in our local communities.

LIBOR will be hosting three LI REALTOR® Volunteer Opportunities in Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties:

• Saturday, June 3 - City Harvest Volunteer Day at Astoria Mobile Market, from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm, 10 volunteers are needed. Registration is full. 

   

• Thursday, June 8 – Island Harvest Volunteer Day at Glen Cove Senior Mobile Market from 9:30 am-12:30 pm, 12 volunteers are needed. Registration is full.

   

• Friday, June 9 - Island Harvest Volunteer Day at Greenlawn Community Mobile Market (Dolan Center), from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm, 16 volunteers are needed. Volunteers are still needed. 

Description of Duties: Volunteers for each event will assist in distributing hundreds of pounds of fresh produce and food to eligible community market-goers. Volunteers will help to stock stations with boxes and guide clients through the market. Additional tasks may include helping set up market tables, sorting and repacking food items, breaking down produce boxes, line management, and putting market tables and tents away at the close of market.
