NYSAR’s NYC Issues Working Group Meets in Lower Manhattan

Marlo, Kevin, and several LIBOR members joined NYSAR’s “NYC Issues Working Group” meeting at The Beekman in Lower Manhattan last week to discuss both local elections and key legislative issues. The Parkside Group recapped New York City’s 2023 primary elections for District Attorney and City Council and previewed several hotly contested City Council elections this November in Queens. The group also discussed REALTOR®-related legislation before the New York City Council – including support for a push for co-op board transparency (Int. 1002) and opposition to a bill that would require broker’s fees in rental contracts to be paid by whoever hires the broker (Int. 1105). NYSAR staff updated the group on where state-level legislative issues stand and provided a summary of Gov. Kathy Hochul’s executive actions on housing. NYSAR’s “NYC Issues Working Group” meets again virtually during NYSAR’s "Elevate Your Profession" 2023 Fall Business Meetings on September 18th at 1PM.
