Early Voting Begins this Weekend in Northeast Queens on Special Election for State Assembly

Following the resignation of State Assembly Member Dan Rosenthal (D-Kew Gardens Hills, Forest Hills, College Point, Whitestone) to take a full-time position with the United Jewish Appeal-Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York, early voting begins Saturday, September 2nd in the 27th Assembly District to choose between Democrat Sam Berger and Republican Daniel Hirsch. As City & State noted, “Although Rosenthal won his reelection last year – the first year since taking office that he faced a general election challenger at all – Zeldin won the 27th District by over 12 percentage points.” Early voting continues through Sunday, September 10th and the special Election Day (for this seat only) will be on Tuesday, September 12th from 6 AM-9 PM.
