RLM 2024: LIBOR Goes to Washington, Joins NAR Lobbying on Capitol Hill

May 14, 2024

Last week, thousands of NAR members gathered in Washington, D.C. for the 2024 REALTORS® Legislative Meetings, including Capitol Hill visits, special issues forums, committee meetings, legislative activities, and the industry trade show. LIBOR members held bipartisan meetings with U.S. Representatives for Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk to highlight REALTOR® priorities that will strengthen the "American Dream" for all – including the More Homes On the Market Act and Neighborhood Homes Investment Act, expanding affordable housing options for renters, fighting for LGBTQ+ fair housing protection nationwide, preserving REALTORS®’ independent contractor status, and working with the V.A. to provide better housing options for our brave American veterans. Our REALTORS® thank U.S. Rep. Nick LaLota (R-Towns of Huntington, Smithtown, northern Brookhaven), U.S. Rep. Andrew Garbarino (R-Towns of Babylon, Islip, southern Brookhaven), U.S. Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-northeast Queens, Towns of North Hempstead & Oyster Bay), U.S. Rep. Anthony D'Esposito (R-Town of Hempstead, City of Long Beach), U.S. Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-southeast Queens) and U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-central Queens) for their thoughtful engagement.
