NYC Call to Action: Join NYSAR's Plans to Oppose Broker Fee Changes

May 29, 2024

REALTORS® living and working in New York City are invited to NYSAR's rally at City Hall at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12 to oppose Int. 360. This bill would prohibit the existing method for real estate brokers and agents of a landlord to collect a broker's fee from a renter.  To attend this rally at New York City Hall Park, please register by clicking here.  The Consumer & Worker Protection Committee hearing on this bill will be held at 10 AM in the New York City Council Chambers after the rally. NYSAR has asked members to testify against it.

Yes, NYSAR knows LIBOR's Education Conference & Trade Show is on the same day. Neither LIBOR nor NYSAR could help when the bill was called for a hearing by the Council. But you don't have to choose! Use NYSAR's online Call to Action to send an email to your local City Council member who needs to hear from you why Int. 360 is a BAD DEAL for real estate and bad for tenants: CLICK HERE TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!

Media coverage of the bill so far has not been favorable to the real estate industry, especially now that Zillow/StreetEasy is backing a statewide bill to "reform" broker fees, too. Check out WCBS-2 TV, WPIX-11 TV, and Reddit.  Everyone should support this initiative to END BROKER FEES in NYC to sample it for yourself.
