Polls are open for New York's registered Democrats on June 25^th from 6 AM-9 PM. Early voting hours vary locally. Republicans do not have contested local primaries. Check your voter registration here.

-Queens has two especially notable races: Assembly District 35 (East Elmhurst, Corona, LeFrak City) between local senior services director Larinda Hooks and former State Senator Hiram Monserrate, and District 37 (Long Island City, Sunnyside, Woodside) between former special victims attorney Johanna Carmona and two Democratic Socialists - union organizer Claire Valdez and current Assemblymember Juan Ardila, who has refused to resign after accusations of sexual misconduct. You can look up all New York City primaries right here.

-In Nassau's Senate District 6 (Hempstead, Rockville Centre, Westbury), County Legislator Siela Bynoe and Assemblymember Taylor Darling are competing to make history and become the first Black woman to represent Long Island in the State Senate. In Assembly District 18 (Hempstead, Uniondale, northeast Freeport), Hempstead Village Trustee Noah Burroughs is competing with Lakeview Library Board President Lisa Ortiz to replace Darling in Albany. 

Assembly District 21 (Lynbrook, Rockville Centre, Baldwin) sees former Assemblymember Judy Griffin facing perennial candidate Pat Maher for the nod to challenge sitting Assemblymember Brian Curran (R) in a competitive general election. In Senate District 7 (North Hempstead, Glen Cove, Oyster Bay) voters will choose between North Hempstead Housing Authority commissioner Kim Keiserman and former TV editor Brad Schwartz to face State Senator Jack Martins (R) in November. -In Suffolk's 1st  Congressional District, author and former CNN commentator John Avlon is taking on Nancy Goroff, former chemistry department chair at Stony Brook University. Either will face current U.S. Rep. Nick LaLota (R) in the November general election to represent North Shore Suffolk and the East End. Assembly District 4 (Port Jefferson, Stony Brook, Coram) has a primary to take on Assemblymember Ed Flood (R) between Port Jefferson's Deputy Mayor Rebecca Kassay and nonprofit advocate Skyler Johnson.
