NYC's "City of Yes": Marathon Public Hearing for Mayor Adams' Housing Push

"Over 200 New Yorkers (including your LIBOR Government Affairs Director) tuned in remotely or came in person to comment on 'City of Yes: Zoning for Housing Opportunity' plan during a marathon City Planning Commission (CPC) hearing that stretched on for nearly 15 hours from July 10 into the next morning," reported AMNY. "The hearing followed a 60-day public review period and precedes a looming CPC vote, where the panel must decide in the next 50 days on whether or not to advance the zoning amendment to the City Council."

Several community boards and four of the five borough presidents have given their support, but there is vocal opposition to new zoning rules in neighborhoods skeptical of building more housing - especially in eastern Queens. You can watch video of the hearing here.
