Following last week's announcement, he would back Mayor Eric Adams' (D) "City of Yes for Housing Opportunity" - but with conditions regarding parking, ADUs, and infrastructure, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards (D) appeared on NY1 to discuss the topic:
"Queens Borough President Donovan Richards joined political anchor Errol Louis on 'Inside City Hall' Wednesday to discuss his support. 'We have to ensure that when we do development, we’re looking at it holistically. There were some concerns raised around density and height and of course we want to take those things into account,' Richards said. 'I really look at the plan as being modest.'" Watch here.
"The Adams administration’s “City of Yes” housing proposal is moving forward after Queens Borough President Donovan Richards voiced his conditional support for the plan this week. He is the fourth borough president to give the go-ahead, with only Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella against it. Under the plan, the city is proposing zoning changes to help boost housing construction in all five boroughs. The 'City of Yes' now heads to the City’s Planning Commission, which is expected to vote on it next month," reported NY1.
