"Three candidates, fueled by opposition to the [ LIBOR-supported] Melville Town Center project, Friday declared their intent to run for Town Board and supervisor, challenging those already nominated by the Huntington Republican Party," reported Huntington Now.
"The party had already nominated Supervisor Ed Smyth and Town Councilman Dr. Dave Bennardo to run again, along with Huntington Conservative Committee chair Greg Grizopoulos for the Republican slate. Grizopoulos would succeed Councilman Sal Ferro, who isn’t running for re-election after his one term."
Councilwoman Brooke Lupinacci, former councilman Eugene Cook, and former Zoning Board of Appeals chairman John Posillico have formed this anti-new housing alliance.
This likely low turnout primary will take place on Tuesday, June 24, with early voting beginning June 14. You can check your voter registration with New York State anytime HERE.
