2012 MLSLI™ Leadership Names Linda Bonarelli-Lugo President

December 9, 2011 - West Babylon, NY - The Multiple Listing Service of Long Island, Inc. (MLSLI™) has recently named a new Executive Committee. Leading the MLSLI of Long Island is incoming President Linda Bonarelli Lugo.  Linda was installed into office by her husband, Otto Lugo, during the association’s recent Installation Gala held at the Crest Hollow Country Club.

Linda made the following remarks before getting officially installed as 2012 MLSLI President, “I’m looking forward to a productive year! Five years ago I stood here as your incoming LIBOR President, and at that time I stated that I looked forward to working with your new MLSLI President, Don Scanlon.  Well now the roles are reversed, and I once again am looking forward to working with Don.”

Linda Bonarelli Lugo began her real estate career in 1987 and currently owns two Realty Executives North Shore offices in Huntington.

Linda joined LIBOR in 1988.  She served as the Long Island Board of Realtors® Inc. (LIBOR) President in 2007, LIBOR Treasurer in 2003 and 2004, Suffolk County Vice President in 2005 and President-Elect in 2006.  She served as MLSLI Treasurer in 2010 and 2011.  Linda has served on various LIBOR committees including Professional Standards, Grievance, Education, Audit, Budget and Legislative; and MLSLI committees including Technology, Budget, Rules, and Field Issues Task Force.  She is the recipient of the prestigious LIBOR Realtor®-Broker of the Year Award for 2009.

Linda obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration for Accounting in 1980 from Adelphi University.  Her accounting career spanned from banking to manufacturing, including working for Fortune 200 companies.

She believes that education and knowledge are the keys to success.  She holds the following NAR real estate designations:  ABR, CRB, CRS, CIPS, SRES and GRI.  She is also a NYS Department of State Certified Instructor.  It is through education, hard work and having an entrepreneurial spirit that Linda has been able to reach her current goals.

Linda is an avid animal lover and supports the Humane Society.  She is also an active supporter of many local charities including Schneider’s Children’s Hospital. She is a long-time Long Island resident.  She was born and raised in Baldwin and has been a resident of Huntington for the past 29 years.  She lives with her husband Otto and their two dogs.
