LIBOR's Central Nassau Chapter Raises over $3,500 for Community Housing Innovations

Dec 6, 2018

The Central Nassau Chapter of the Long Island Board of REALTORS®, Inc. (LIBOR) hosted “Party for a Purpose” on Tuesday, November 13th at the Holiday Inn in Plainview, to celebrate the holidays and raise money for Community Housing Innovations (CHI), a nonprofit organization that provides housing for over 750 Long Islanders each night. In total, the group raised over $3,500 to support homeless families over the holidays.

“Our missions are similar – to help families move into their own homes,” said Ruth Pfeffer, President of the Central Nassau Chapter of LIBOR. “We are proud to support CHI’s efforts and provide support to struggling families to help them have a happy and joyous holiday season.”

Attendees also donated new gloves, hats, scarves and socks to CHI’s clients, much needed as the winter season quickly approaches. Guests also perused a silent auction with over 25 items ranging from an iPad to wine and beauty baskets to virtual tours, bidding to raise money for a great cause.

“We are so grateful to the members of LIBOR of Central Nassau for choosing CHI as the beneficiary of their annual event. Their generosity has made a difference to the many children and adults residing in CHI’s shelters on Long Island this holiday season,” said Alexander H. Roberts, Executive Director of CHI.
