LIBOR Awards 2015 Realtor®-Salesperson of the Year to Matthew Arnold

Nov 30, 2015

The Long Island Board of Realtors®, Inc. (LIBOR) is pleased to announce that Realtor® Matthew Arnold of Netter Real Estate in West Islip has been named the recipient of the honorable Realtor®-Salesperson of the Year award.  The announcement was made at the association’s Annual Installation and Awards Dinner held on November 24, 2015 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

Matthew Arnold was born to the late John and Patricia Arnold in Bay Shore, New York. The youngest of eight children, six older brothers and one older sister, Matthew's strong ties to his family and the Long Island community kept him on Long Island.

Matthew found himself wanting to become a Realtor® at a young age. With hard work, diligence, and under the tutelage of Steven Taca, Matthew invested his time and energy into the field of Real Estate.  His reverence and love for the community helped Matthew to excel.  For ten years Matthew was the Co-owner/Broker of Dutch Door Realty in West Sayville, before joining the Netter Real Estate team.  Matthew instills a work ethic that transcends FSBOS, expireds, sphere of influence, marketing and 90 hour workweeks.

Once in the business Matthew immersed himself in the “Realtor®” life, by volunteering his time and energy with the Long Island Board of Realtors®.   Matthew has served on the LIBOR Board of Directors intermittently for the past decade.  He has served as President and Vice President of LIBOR’s South Shore Chapter, and not only has been a member of numerous LIBOR committees but has chaired many as well, RPAC and Public Relations, to name a few.  Matthew has also served on the New York State Association of Realtors® Board of Directors since 2007.

While Matthew's work schedule is extremely challenging, it is important to him to contribute a considerable amount of his time to local organizations and fundraisers. He has been a member of the Kiwanis Club since 2002 and held the presidency position from 2004-2005. From the own loss of his father at an early age, Matthew also joined Hospice's Committee of The Children’s Bereavement Program. He has worked tirelessly for local charities, serving on committees and hosting as the Outrageously Highest-Earning fund raiser Auctioneer for The Family Service League, The Morgan Center, Habitats for Humanity, The American Cancer Society, The Alumni Association for St John the Baptist Diocesan High School and many more.  He has built wheelchair ramps and houses across the island with Rebuilding Together Long Island and Habitat for Humanity. And in the summer of 2007 he went down to Louisiana with a team from LIBOR and NYSAR to help rebuild homes destroyed in Hurricane Katrina, through the Habitat Global program.

As an active member and participant of the community, Matthew brings his diligence, compassion and unwavering commitment to not only his career, but to everything that he is involved in.  Professionally and personally he is everyone's friend, mentor and brother.
