The Long Island Board of REALTORS® Inc. (LIBOR) presented a check in the amount of $5,000 to the United Way of Long Island, on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.  This donation is to be used as sponsorship towards VetsBuild, a signature United Way of Long Island initiative dedicated to providing job training in Green construction, facility maintenance, technology and advanced manufacturing for veterans and their families in our community, at no charge to the veteran.

One out of every five veterans on Long Island struggles to find a career path that will lead to financial independence. VetsBuild represents United Way of Long Island’s commitment to addressing this problem by changing lives and building futures for our local heroes. The VetsBuild training opportunities form a solid foundation upon which a stable and healthy life can be built.

During the presentation United Way graciously provided a tour for LIBOR leadership, of their E3 SmartBuild Training Center.  This state-of-the art facility is equipped with the latest technology and equipment to provide VetsBuild students with hands-on training in green construction and facility maintenance.

LIBOR is honored to partner with United Way of Long Island in their mission to create opportunities for a better life for all, by focusing on the three key building blocks of education, financial stability and health.

Pictured at the facility with Veteran members of the VetsBuild program are (l-r) Michael Miller, LIBOR Business Development Manager; Fabrizio A. Bustos, VetsBuild Director; Charlotte Van der Waag, LIBOR President Elect; David Legaz, LIBOR President and Theresa A. Regnante, UWLI President & CEO.

This sponsorship was made through LIBOR’s Public Relations campaign “We’re More than REALTORS®…” (WMTR).  Created by LIBOR’s Public Relations Committee in 2006, the WMTR campaign supports numerous organizations, philanthropic programs and charitable community efforts across Long Island and throughout the world.
