LIBOR Signs Memorandum of Understanding with NAR-India to Encourage Collaboration and Opportunities

Jan 27, 2021

Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) has been making strides to improve communications with International Associations across the world.   Through a new monthly webinar, Travel Abroad Virtually with LIBOR, the Association hosts webinars featuring international industry professionals.

During the January 21, 2021 webinar, LIBOR signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Association of REALTORS®-India (NAR–India) to establish the cooperation of the two REALTOR® associations in developing a mutually beneficial relationship for their respective members.

The agreement creates an open line of communication and affirms the value of international collaboration between the two associations. Through this relationship, the associations will share market data, real estate procedures, relevant licensing, tax and foreign investment laws; promote educational sessions, conferences and study missions; and encourage international home ownership.

LIBOR currently has 16 MOUs in place with associations from nine countries including: Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, India, Mongolia, Panama, Philippines, Romania, and Serbia.

“LIBOR’s Global Committee has been working diligently to strengthen our international relationships and to help build new ones, such as NAR-India,” said LIBOR President Susan Helsinger. “Establishing these partnerships allows both organizations to develop a greater understanding of global real estate practices and provides limitless opportunities for collaboration for our members.”
