Long Island Board of REALTOR® Donates $2,500 to Rebuilding Together Long Island

Mar 27, 2012

March 27, 2012 - West Babylon, NY - The Long Island Board of Realtors®, Inc. (LIBOR) is honored to continue their over six year partnership with Rebuilding Together, by donating $2,500 to assist their Long Island Chapter. The check was presented by Don Scanlon, President of the Long Island Board of Realtors®, Inc., Susan Helsinger, LIBOR Public Relations Committee Chairperson and Kate Koplinka, LIBOR Public Relations Committee Vice Chairperson to Bob Ellis, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together Long Island; during a recent meeting held at the REALTOR® Service Center in West Babylon.

Rebuilding Together Long Island is dedicated to restoring the homes of economically disadvantaged homeowners who are elderly, disabled, and/or single-parent families, so they may continue to live in comfort with dignity and independence. Their committed staff of 300 volunteers is the backbone of the organization. LIBOR is a proud supporter of this organization, helping them fulfill their mission to help rebuild the homes and lives of people in need.

In addition to donating funds, members of LIBOR will be donating their time to work alongside the Rebuilding Together Long Island team on a project slated for late spring. If you would like to volunteer for this Realtor® build day, please respond via email to pr@mlsli.com  (note, all volunteers must be 16 years of age or older).

This donation was made through the Long Island Board of REALTORS® “We’re More Than REALTORS®…” initiative, which supports numerous programs and charitable community organizations. The “We’re More Than Realtors® campaign was created by the LIBOR Public Relations Committee. The campaign raises the public’s awareness about Realtors® and their philanthropic efforts within their communities.
