Andy Thaw of Reliant Home Funding has been honored as the 2024 REALTOR® Affiliate of the Year by Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR). The award was presented at LIBOR’s annual Installation and Awards Event on January 23, 2025, at the Garden City Hotel in Garden City, NY.
With over 39 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry, Thaw is widely recognized as a leader in FHA 203(k) and HomeStyle renovation financing, a specialization he has championed for more than three decades. His expertise earned him recognition from the New York HUD office, which referred him to author Understanding 203(k) Financing, an industry guide used by Capstone Institute. Thaw recently completed his second book, Reinventing the Deal, focused on renovation lending.
Thaw has partnered extensively with the New York HUD office throughout his career, contributing to publications and developing best-practice curriculums for the lending industry. A dedicated educator for more than 30 years, he is a member of LIBOR’s teaching faculty at LIBOR and a passionate advocate for advancing industry knowledge.
In his leadership roles, Thaw serves as the Chair of LIBOR’s Education Committee (CADRE) for 2025–2026 and participates in several New York State Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR) committees, including the Education Advisory Group, Local Education Forum, and Education Management Committees. Additionally, he is Vice President of Renovation Lending at Reliant Home Funding in Melville, NY.
