REALTOR® Debra Chiappetta has been named 2024 REALTOR® Broker of the Year by Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR). The award was presented at the Association’s annual Installation and Awards Event held on January 23, 2025, at Garden City Hotel in Garden City, NY.

LIBOR’s REALTOR® Broker of the Year award is presented annually to a REALTOR® who exhibits great dedication to LIBOR’s members and mission and has contributed to the advancement of the professional image of REALTORS®. Recipients are industry leaders known for their exemplary service and commitment to the real estate profession.

Chiappetta’s career began as a controller in the investment banking industry, where she provided accounting and consulting services to small businesses until 1997. While raising two children, she transitioned to the mortgage industry as a loan originator, she established her mortgage brokerage in 2000, laying the foundation for her real estate career. Today, she remains active in the wholesale mortgage industry to stay informed about financing options for buyers.

In 2004, Chiappetta earned her real estate broker’s license, expanding her business to include seller-side transactions and small commercial real estate. Known for her integrity, collaboration, and focus on elevating professional standards, Chiappetta prioritizes client satisfaction and relationship-building over transaction volume.

Chiappetta’s desire to address broader industry challenges led her to begin volunteering with LIBOR in 2018. Her contributions have since extended to state and national levels, where she has taken on leadership and committee roles to advance professional services and industry standards. She credits her professional growth to her volunteer efforts and her commitment to continuing education through advanced real estate designations.

With over 20 years of experience as a real estate broker and business owner, Chiappetta has built a successful business while mentoring her team of licensed agents and sharing her knowledge with the REALTOR® community. Grateful for the support she’s received throughout her journey, she remains passionate about giving back through volunteerism and mentorship.
