Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) has named REALTOR® Angela “Angel” LoBello as the recipient of its 2024 REALTOR® Spirit Award. This honor recognizes LoBello’s unwavering dedication to her community and her exceptional volunteer work with Soup to Nuts LLC, a non-profit organization serving those in need.
The REALTOR® Spirit Award celebrates members who make a significant impact on their communities through selfless volunteerism. As part of this recognition, LIBOR will donate $5,000 to Soup to Nuts LLC in support of its mission.
LoBello has been a successful real estate professional since 1997. Currently a Broker Associate at Charles Rutenberg Realty, she holds the Certified Buyer Representative (CBR) and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designations, in addition to a degree in business. After leaving a sales role at a Fortune 500 company, LoBello transitioned to real estate to create a career that allowed her to balance work and family life while raising her two sons.
LoBello’s passion for real estate stems from her commitment to understanding the unique needs of her clients. Her personalized approach has resulted in lifelong friendships with many of those she has helped over the years. Guiding clients through the buying and selling process with care and expertise is at the core of her mission.
Throughout her career, LoBello has been an active volunteer, dedicating time to various causes, including school programs, animal shelters, and breast cancer awareness events. In 2020, as the pandemic disrupted daily life, LoBello sought new ways to make a difference. She discovered Soup to Nuts Soup Kitchen (STN) in Freeport, NY, located just one town away from her hometown. At the time, the organization adapted to government restrictions by offering takeaway lunches to guests.
Since then, Soup to Nuts has resumed serving full-course, sit-down lunches three days a week, providing meals to more than 100 guests at a time. LoBello initially joined as a volunteer but quickly became a vital part of the organization. Today, she co-coordinates the program alongside its coordinator and co-president. Her efforts have introduced several improvements, enhancing the efficiency and impact of the program.
“Angela LoBello exemplifies the heart of what it means to be a REALTOR®—serving not only her clients but also her community with unwavering dedication and compassion,” said LIBOR President Mark Donnelly. “Her incredible work with Soup to Nuts Soup Kitchen is an inspiring reminder of the profound impact one person can make. We are proud to honor her with the 2024 REALTOR® Spirit Award and support the important mission of this organization.”
For LoBello, volunteering at Soup to Nuts has been profoundly rewarding. She values the opportunity to give back to her community, work with dedicated volunteers, and connect with the guests they serve. “Volunteering at Soup to Nuts has become my true calling,” she shared. “I’m grateful to have found my ‘volunteering home’ and feel privileged to make a difference.”
Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, LoBello enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, gardening, listening to music, and relaxing at the beach. Her passion for both real estate and community service reflects her dedication to enriching the lives of others.
