On February 16, 2024, Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) proudly hosted a REALTOR® focused forum titled "Meet the New Faces of the Nassau and Suffolk County Legislatures." The event served as an introduction for LIBOR members to the newly elected Nassau and Suffolk County Legislators. The forum took place at the Heritage Club at Bethpage in Farmingdale, NY.
LIBOR was honored to welcome a distinguished panel, led by LIBOR Senior Director of Public Policy & Government Affairs Marlo Paventi, including Suffolk County Legislator Rebecca Sanin (D-Huntington), Nassau County Legislator Patrick Mullaney (R-Long Beach), Nassau County Legislator Seth Koslow (D-Merrick), Nassau County Legislator Scott Davis (D-Rockville Centre), and Suffolk County Legislator Chad Lennon (R-Rocky Point).
The event highlighted LIBOR's dedication to advocacy, ensuring that the voices of REALTORS® in Nassau and Suffolk Counties are heard clearly. The Association advocates for local laws and regulations that benefit the real estate industry, uphold private property rights, and encourage homeownership. Additionally, LIBOR monitors and assists in efforts at the state and federal levels.
"Fostering relationships with elected officials who understand and support the issues important to our profession and livelihood is crucial," said Doreen Spagnuolo, LIBOR CEO. "These relationships help advocate for policy initiatives that strengthen the ability for Long Islanders to own, buy, and sell real property. LIBOR is appreciative of our friends in the Legislature who understand the issues that help our communities thrive.”
The "Meet the New Faces of the Nassau and Suffolk County Legislatures" forum provided LIBOR members with an opportunity to engage directly with elected officials and underscored LIBOR's ongoing commitment to fostering collaboration between REALTORS® and local government officials.
