Long Island Board of REALTORS® Members Advocate for Housing Policies at New York REALTORS® Annual Lobby Day

Members of Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) participated in the New York REALTORS® Annual Lobby Day on March 27, 2024, at the Capitol in Albany, hosted by New York State Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR).

With the 2024-2025 New York State Budget on the horizon and a continued focus on advancing housing policy, LIBOR members joined forces with 400 REALTORS® from across New York to engage with local State Senate and Assembly members that represent districts in Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties. Key discussions centered on critical issues impacting the real estate profession and all New Yorkers, including the need to increase housing options for middle- and working-class residents, facilitate affordable homeownership for first-time buyers and establish a fairer co-op application process, among other priorities.

"Lobby Day is an essential opportunity for REALTORS® to collaborate directly with NY State Senators and Assembly members in Albany. We aim to address crucial real estate concerns, advocate for industry-friendly policies, and contribute to creating a fair and transparent environment for all stakeholders," said Kevin Leatherman, President of LIBOR.
